{"id":142,"date":"2009-07-26T17:34:53","date_gmt":"2009-07-27T00:34:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wellys.org\/wellysblog\/?p=142"},"modified":"2009-09-13T06:47:55","modified_gmt":"2009-09-13T13:47:55","slug":"thanks-norman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.wellys.org\/wellysblog\/?p=142","title":{"rendered":"Thanks, Norman!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was thinking this, and was going to write about it but I didn&#8217;t have the depth of experience to make the point as clear as <a title=\"Final Cut Pro 7 comments \" href=\"http:\/\/normanhollyn.com\/2009\/07\/23\/final-cut-pro-baby-steps-into-the-future\/\" target=\"_blank\">Norman does<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In his blog, <a title=\"Norman Hollyn's blog\" href=\"http:\/\/normanhollyn.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hollyn-wood (Norman, that is)<\/a>, Norman makes the point that the price cuts and the focus on ease of use sets this upgrade to Final Cut Pro\/Studio as a significant push by Apple towards the low-end side of video editing. He doesn&#8217;t mean that Apple took features away or that Final Cut Pro isn&#8217;t capable of editing high-end feature films, what Apple did do was to introduce ways of helping the not-so-good be a lot better or sometimes, good-enough. AND, they dropped the price.<\/p>\n<p>The point? A big push by Apple to become the perferred platform for all of the independent, YouTube, Vimeo, film-makers&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Thanks, Norman.
